Photofacial treatments consist of the noninvasive application
of intense pulsed light (IPL) to the skin. Generally, five or
more treatments, spaced approximately three weeks apart, are required
to see results. Treatment is performed in our office following
application of an anesthetic cream to the skin. Unlike more invasive
procedures, there is no “down time” with Photofacial
treatment so you may resume normal activities immediately.
What Conditions Can Photofacial Treatments Improve?
Photofacial therapy effectively treats the following conditions:
- Redness and dilated blood vessels of the face, neck, and
chest
- Flushing
- Rosacea
- Hyperpigmentation or irregular pigmentation on the face,
neck, chest, and hands
- Fine wrinkling
- Coarse skin with large pores
- Lax skin
